About ITT Pilates
Why was ITT created?
The Integrated Teacher Training was formed in 2002 by four leading Pilates teachers in the field: Madeline Black, Joerg Chabowski, Debra Schubert and Jean Sullivan. The motivation to combine our efforts into one organization is a result of the popular demand for Pilates trainers and requests for continued studies for the experienced practitioner. It is also the desire of the founders to create an organization that will nurture a community support for persons in this field.
What is our training and Pilates philosophy?
The ITT Pilates philosophy is to teach Pilates with a sound understanding of the Pilates repertory of exercises along with anatomy, kinesiology, functional movement patterns, and protocols for workouts focusing on different people's needs. The Mastery Level takes this philosophy further into a hands-on corrective perspective and advanced level of muscle pattern dysfunction and compensations study.
What do we stand for and what are we committed to do?
ITT Pilates trademark stands for the excellence in education, experience of making positive changes in people's bodies, and the source for leading edge information in the field of physical science. We are committed to providing students from the novice to highly experienced practitioner, a wealth of opportunities to maintain the highest quality of training for their clients.
Why is certification so important?
Today, the public is aware of the importance of certification, and potential new clients look for evidence of a trainer's qualifications. ITT Pilates certification places the trainer in a more desirable position to be hired, whether as an independent personal trainer at a facility as in a gym or private studio.
